wiring diagrams

wiring, electrical and more wiring diagrams. school's been kicking my ass with this electrical. Today i experienced diagnosis of window motors and power door locks. This stuff is easy, just a little tedious. I laugh though because it's amazing how many people havent set base timing on a honda in my class properly. I was the only one that actually knows how to set it. I also made the SCC connectors for diagnostic purposes from old junk cars.

anyways, i dynoed my car and it made 130hp and 160ft-lbs at the hubs. thats quite a bit more than stock so im happy especially with stock ignition, timing and 87 octane.

Ive been looking at maybe some aerdynamic stuff for my project car (accord coupe), idk...the majority of the stuff looks like it could be made.

I also have another project civic coupe. At the moment it only has a stock D15 that runs pretty good especially it passes smog real clean. I still have a build f22 that needs to be put together so i was wondering if I could swap a built f22 into the civic. That would be pretty beastly huh? probably run 14's with the f22 transmission. IDK though, side work has been keeping me in line. I had to blow off all in vehicle side jobs because i have an engine and 4 ccylinder heads that need machining.

Lately Ive been doing a lot of rods and pin bushing honing and we got 3 other hondas that are awaiting labor and parts. Overall, I am enjoying the line of work and i enjoy the results even better.

started this week a little late

boss was out of town friday and monday.

Today i picked up the largest set of cylinder heads ever. a set off a diesel Catepillar engine which caught fire. it is about twice the size of a typical SBC head.

put the rear end in the nova and began to mount the rear sway bar. the front sway and bilstein shocks are in. The custom centerline wheels are being made to order.

Schools been kicking my ass.

ordered my White matco service cart with black trim. thats going to take 5-6 weeks to make and ship since it is completely custom.

running around.

running around like a chicken with its head cut off. School started last week and i feel pressured. Dont get me wrong, i love the stuff that we are learning but my amount of free time has dimished.

I am working part time which feels like nothing. I picked up this turbo build for a honda D15b japaense engine. Now check this out. i was figuring out deck height os i know how much to machine the deck of the block and my first result turned out to be over the top by a .100 of an inch!

so i called up the owner and had him explain to me what a japanese D15b since i really only touch USDM blocks.

A d15b is:
1.5 crank
D16z6 rod journals
1.5 stroke
75mm bore

and were using custom rods and vitara pistons.

boy was that confusing.

Been doing side work.

for the last week i have been off, I have been doing side work and finishing up my dad's lexus es300 engine swap.

engine starts, runs and doesnt leak but the misfire issue still persists.

I got a rock in my eye and it hurt so i had to have my mom extract it.

Just finished up some heads today but will have thursday off to run around in the south bay and attend my school orientation. School starts monday and I am kinda excited to meet new and old people, meet the tool guys and get ready to learn new stuff.

The stuff is what worries me because it isnt stuff that i deal with on a daily basis. It isnt engine or engine swaps, it is engine performance and tune-up as well as diagnostics.

I also got the opportunity to acquire a VW corrado for free. I really want it to go through and while those cars are badass, I dont think i can keep it. Ill probably end up selling it for money and keep myself focus on a '72 C10 pickup i have in mind.

work part 2

when you work for a good boss and he realizes that you know how to work efficiently...he'll usually give you a raise. in this case, it was a 20% raise.

This week is over and finished most of the work. We have a couple blocks to finish including two turboed D series honda motors.

I also went to the junkyard and got a bunch of parts for the civic. I also swooped on a supra turbo, CT26 which should be good for 300hp. Im only shooting for 250 since it is only a stock motor.

work work work

We are off next week so we are trying to get work done son. i finished off 4 cylinder heads today and tomorrow i have another mercedes to do.

putting in a lot of hours. after labor day week, we should be getting everything for the nova at the shop. It's been pretty hot lately and there isnt much wind which makes it worse.

been trying to get some pics together but idk, just kinda busy.

did you know that mercedes use a lot of sodium filled valves for exhaust? and a 30 degree valve cut is good for low rpm?

first post!

Im at my 2nd machine shop job, started back in May and get paid quite a bit more than my last one yet not much compared to a Systems Analyst or Computer Technician, ARGH!

The work is love/hate but i mostly love it. I like all cars but hondas have a uniqueness to them and I also find them a lot easier to work on.

I just finished a ka24de head. just a simple valve re-seal and surface. for a friend's brother....

engine-wise:
I just stock rebuilt a D15b7, .020 over, new gaskets and rings, valve job and the such. This was actually one of my first D series honda engines and I do have to make a note to myself to not use cheap composite graphite gaskets. It began to externally leak.

So im going to get this civic movable and do this head gasket R&R later because i have a lexus engine to R&R next week. that D15 head to R&R will only take maybe 3 hours. I have this neat trick on doing head gaskets on sohc motors. I dont have to touch the timing belt poisition and/or tension.

other than that, the engine runs alright being my first engine and also on a very tight budget. (less than 200 bucks for the rebuild)

I also rebuilt the engine in my DD, i did this one for under 500 including a new clutch. Has new exhaust guides, perf valve job, honed, decked, refurbished the rods. the engine runs great with no leaks and i have a small turbo setup for it.

the one that came out of my car lost compression in a matter of 12 hours? It was wierd, the car just wouldnt start one night even though it started in the morning. I took the engine apart and the bottom end is cherry, the bearings are perfect, the cylinder walls still have the cross hatch.

So im going to re-ring that and keep a bottem end as a spare. That seems to be it for tonight. I have lots to talk about but i wont bore you with the details.

Although Im working on a 71 Nova at the shop. Complete front end makeover, powder coated subframe, new 350, aluminum heads, hotchkiss suspension, bilstein shocks, Wilwood brakes and new set of rollers. Ill get pics on it.

Here's my project car. currently setup for auto-x. future plans for it are koni yellow/Ground controls/extended top hats?, Tune for the delta 272, kirkey racing seat, high compression f22 and LSD.
